I recently spoke with Beth Anne Stuebe, ILTA Director of Publications and Press, on what to expect at this year’s entirely in-person ILTACON, set to be hosted once more in charming National Harbor, MD, just outside of Washington, D.C. from August 21-25, 2022.
For those new to the Legal Tech sector, ILTACON is the premier educational and networking event for the international legal technology community. The full conversation is available on our Spotify podcast channel, but this blog article contains highlights from our discussion for those who prefer reading to listening.
In this episode, Beth Anne discusses theme, ILTACON session teasers, and COVID-19 policy announcements. She also brings us up-to-speed on two more live ILTA events: LegalSEC Summit and ILTACON Europe, which are both taking place later this year.

As mentioned above, ILTACON is officially taking place at National Harbor, MD, between August 21st and 25th as a full-scale, in-person, live event. While this event departs from the hybrid model that has become popular during the pandemic, select sessions will be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person. At this time, we know that all attendees and staff will need to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccinations and that ILTA staff will announce the official health safety policy in the coming weeks.
Several ILTA team members traveled to D.C. in mid-February to conduct a site visit. They plan to utilize most of the Gaylord’s meeting areas as close to full capacity as possible – while staying “Covid safe.”
The conference’s Steering Committee is already working on the program. We learned that security and BYOD will be major topics. Beth Anne also told me there will be quite a few new sessions on deck! The conference will also be addressing timely issues such as work-from-home security, storage, and data tracking issues, which are critical to workers and employers alike during the ongoing struggle to refine remote and hybrid work setups.
I attended ILTACON at the Gaylord in National Harbor years ago and can tell you it is an excellent spot for a conference. Not only are the meeting areas large and beautiful, the entire waterfront area is a special place filled with many great hotels within walking distance to the Gaylord.
In other news, two additional exciting live events are happening this year:
ILTA’s LegalSEC Summit is happening October 10-12, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. You can find the link to the event page here.
ILTACON Europe is taking place in London on November 17, 2022. For more information, please visit the event page here.
Finally, Beth Anne informed us that the International Legal Technology Association is committed to catering to the “I” in ILTA, mentioning that some live events in Brazil and Scandanavia are in the works too!
